Costa Rica's Highlights!!!
The crown jewel of Costa Rica, the RIO CELESTE or the blue River, which flows between the
Tenorio and Miravalles Volcanoes, were its water changes from clear to a beautiful turquoise blue
when it interacts with volcanic sediment. The locals have a saying that goes:
ARENAL VOLCANO 1968 Eruption:
|
Arenal Volcano remained silent for more than 400 years and was considered extinct. Sure, it trembled
often and in some places felt hot under foot, but the local population referred to it as a mountain:
Cerro Arenal. It was home to farmers and ranchers who worked land along its base and even a short
distance up its slopes.
On Monday July 29, 1968, at 7:30 AM the Arenal Volcano suddenly and violently erupted, blowing a
huge hole out of the mountainside. Its eruptions continued for several days and completely buried
over 15 square kilometers with rocks, lava, and ash. By the end, it had killed 87 people and buried 3
small villages: Tabacón, Pueblo Nuevo and San Luís. The eruptions affected a total of more than 232
square kilometers by damaging the land’s crops, property, livestock, and forests.

Cote is very mysterious.....In September of 1971 a plane was taking pictures of Costa Rica every
17 seconds, when it began to take pictures of Lake Cote, A picture of a UFO entering the lake was
taken by that plane. This pictured has been scrutinized over and it cant be proven fake. Below is

Costa Rica has so much to explore and do. From its many Volcano's to its beautiful rivers
and jungles. The active Arenal Volcano sits magnificently towering over La Fortuna town.
Lago Arenal with its many water sports and the outstanding Hanging Bridges, and Sky
Tram & Zipline, are just a few of the exciting things to do here. There is awesome surfing
on the Pacific Coast with its white sandy beaches or a more relaxing beach day on the
Caribbean Coast. And the Rio Celeste, that turns from clear to a beautiful turquoise blue
when it interacts with volcanic sediment.
